When we say Surya, we are talking about the Sun which is the basic powerhouse of the planet. Life on the planet is solar powered, including the human system. Surya Shakti is a way of using that energy. It does wonders for your health, as well as your physical and mental wellbeing.
Surya Kriya is a potent 21-step yogic practice of tremendous antiquity, designed as a holistic process for health, wellness and complete inner wellbeing. Surya Kriya is a complete spiritual process by itself.
The word asana literally means a posture. Out of the innumerable asanas a body can assume, 84 have been identified as Yogasanas, through which one can transform the body and mind into a possibility for ultimate well-being. Yogasanas are not exercises, but rather very subtle processes to manipulate one’s energy in a particular direction.
A variety of practices are available, including:
Bhuta Shuddhi means “purification of the five elements” (i.e. earth, water, fire, air and space) which gets to the root of imbalances in the body that lead to disease. This simple practice which you can do daily reorganizes your system on the elemental level.
Jala Neti is a process of cleansing the nasal passages with salt water. This allows breathing to become free so that air can enter the lungs unimpeded by mucus and dirt which easily builds up during the day.
This is an exercise for the body but at the same time it brings a balance between the left and right brain. It is not just for the brain, the spinal cord also becomes erect and functions in a certain way. Great for kids!
This practice aids in the expansion of one's lung capacity and the relaxation of the whole system, in turn, the number of breaths one takes per minute will come down.
Shanmukhi Mudra is a simple but subtle practice that brightens and rejuvenates the face and eyes and brings about a state of balance leading towards increased awareness and meditativeness.
